Questions before a demo?
How do patients receive the payment request?
By text or email. The message has a secure link to the payment page for that request.
Do patients need an account to pay?
No. They open the link and pay. There is no account to create and no app to install.
Is this a patient payment portal?
It works without one. Each request has its own secure payment page, so patients pay from the link without logging in to a portal.
Which payment methods can patients use?
Credit and debit cards. Apple Pay appears on devices and browsers that support it.
Can patients save a card for future visits?
Yes. Patients can save their card securely, so a later visit does not need a new card entry.
Can we refund a payment?
Yes. Staff with refund permission can refund a payment from the payments list, and the refund date is recorded.
Who processes the payments, and what does it cost?
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Processing fees are separate from your BestDoc subscription, and we go through the rates with you in the demo.
Is this insurance billing?
No. This is for collecting what patients pay directly: deposits, copays and balances. It does not submit insurance claims.
